Ever tried Pina Colada flavored vape juice? How about Cherry Pie or Marshmallow? The variety of delicious flavors, scents, and strengths are what draw most people to vaping. You can taste desserts, candies, beverages, and more. All these flavors come from the vaping juices or e- juices in the vape cartridges that are heated to produce the aromatic vapors.

E-liquid is available in several nicotine levels, as well as nicotine-free options. They contain food-grade ingredients such as Propylene Glycol (PG) and Vegetable Glycerine, flavoring, and water, all of which create and diffuse the delicious flavor uniformly for an enjoyable vaping experience.

What is Vape Juice Made of?

90% of the vape juice is made of PG and VG while food-grade flavoring constitutes about 10%. PG is commonly used in food coloring, vanilla extracts, medications, and other food products while VG is a thick, sweet, vegetable-based liquid. The more the VG in your e-juice more is the vapor produced and the thicker the consistency. VG is extracted from palm plants and is commonly used in cosmetics, lotions, and some medications. In food, VG is often used as a natural preservative.

What you need to note is that anything food-based and food-grade come with an expiry date. This means vaping juices should have an expiry date too. The question is: do they? How long do vaping juices last?

The answer is yes, vape juices do have an expiry date. But most vapers are unaware of this. The ingredients last for about a year or two. VG, for instance, is a stable ingredient that has a long shelf life. It also has antimicrobial and anti-fungal properties. Since the preservatives are long-lasting, vaping liquids are as well.

Check out the manufacturing date at the bottom of the bottle. Your vape juice will last for about two years from that date if it’s stored well. If the bottle is exposed to heat, cold, or long hours of sunlight, the e-liquid ingredients may not last as long.

How to Make Vape Juice Last Longer

Store vape juice properly so you can enjoy it longer. Here’s how:
● Keep it in a cool, dark place. Your medication cupboard or a cabinet away from the window is a good place.
● Make sure the room is not too hot or humid. It should be just slightly cooler than room temperature.
● Never keep vape juice in your refrigerator.

● Avoid removing the cap unless you plan to steep vape juice to create darker, richer, more flavorful blends, just like steeping tea creates stronger flavors.
● Make sure your vape juice is out of the reach of children. If you have kids in the house, store vape juice in a locked cabinet or box.

While some flavors can last you two years, not all do. After a year or two, the flavor of vape juice gradually starts to weaken. If your e-juice contains 3% nicotine, it might reduce to 1% after two years. Try to use it up within a year of the production date to enjoy the flavors best.
